Increase your slacklining knowledge with our comprehensive Slackline Instructor course. This course empowers you with the skills to confidently and professionally teach slacklining, whilst complying with Australian safety standards. The course is a 2 day intensive (8:30 am - 6:00 pm) and is ideal for slackliners of all levels, particularly those who are passionate about teaching slacklining. Total contact hours = 16 hours (8 hours per day) (9.5 hours of this is practical slackline instruction). Our instructor course has 3 levels:
- Level 1 Instructor
- Level 2 Instructor
- Level 3 Instructor
During the 2 day course, it is expected that you will complete your Level 1 Instructor qualification.
NOTE: This 2 day course only allows for the completion of your Level 1 instructor certificate. If you wish to gain a higher level instructor certificate, you will need to complete the 3 day course. Level 2 and Level 3 Instructor qualifications can only be gained by first completing the 3 day course, then completing the coursework after that course.

A BRIEF HISTORY OF SLACKLINE AUSTRALIA'S INSTRUCTOR COURSE
Slackline Australia ran its first instructor course in 2008! Since then we have run countless courses around Australia. Our course is ever-evolving, and with over 11 years of feedback from our network of instructors, you can be sure that you are getting a course that is fun, exciting, professional and cutting-edge. Our course gets updated every year, ensuring that you learn the latest teaching practices. In 2018 we ran 2 instructor courses (Adelaide in March and Perth in June), and this year we will be running another 2 as listed below:
Gold Coast - October (11th - 12th) (Friday and Saturday + Monday 14th slacklining hang out)
Melbourne - November/December (29th November - 2nd December) (Friday - Sunday course + Monday slacklining hang out)

Usually our Trainer / Assessors hang out in the park slacklining the day after the course - because who doesn't love slacklining?? If you have the time, you are very welcome to join and practice all your new skills!

The Trainer / Assessors will be staying at the Tallebudgera Leisure Centre. The centre provides affordable group accomodation, so if you are travelling from interstate (or far away) to attend, you are invited to share accommodation. SLACKLINING SKILLS REQUIRED
You do not require any specific slacklining skills to attend. However, our course does have a practical skills test that you will need to pass to get your level 1 instructor status. This involves 1-leg holds, walking a 15 meter slackline forward and backward, and some other static poses. You will have many opportunities to pass this test during or after your course - so practice but don't stress too much - we will be there to teach and guide you.

If you wish to complete your Level 1 Instructor qualification during the course, you will need to have or complete the following, which are requirements for all outdoor educators / instructors:
- Blue Card / Working with children check for your state
- Police check / DSCI check
- Current First Aid and CPR
