This course empowers you with the skills to confidently and professionally teach slacklining, whilst complying with Australian safety standards.
The course is a 3 day intensive (8:30 am - 6:00 pm) and is available to slackliners of all levels!
By the end of day 3 you will be a Certified Slackline Instructor with the confidence to teach slacklining progressions to individuals and groups.
Course Structure and Learning Outcomes:
2 weeks before the course you will receive a welcome pack from us with some pre-reading and a checklist for you to complete.
-Enhance your knowledge in the areas of slacklining, teaching and coaching
-Learn how to teach a comprehensive, safe, fun, progressive and meaningful slackline lesson for beginners.
-Learn the latest rigging and de-rigging standards
-Practical risk assessments and safety strategies
-How to teach environmental consideration (Leave No Trace)
-Slackline culture and community engagement
-Professionally coach intermediate and advanced slackliners of all ages.
-Group management and efficient lesson planning
-Improve your personal slacklining abilities.
-Learn how to coach slackliners through mental barriers that arise when challenged.
-Identify slackline related strengths and weaknesses in yourself and others

A BRIEF HISTORY OF SLACKLINE AUSTRALIA'S INSTRUCTOR COURSE
Slackline Australia ran its first instructor course in 2008! Since then we have run countless courses around Australia. Our course is ever-evolving, and with over 11 years of feedback from our network of instructors, you can be sure that you are getting a course that is fun, exciting, professional and cutting-edge. Our course gets updated every year, ensuring that you learn the latest teaching practices. In 2018 we ran 2 instructor courses (Adelaide in March and Perth in June), and this year we will be running another 2 as listed below:
Gold Coast - October (11th - 14th) (Friday - Sunday course + Monday slacklining hang out)
Melbourne - November/December (29th November - 2nd December) (Friday - Sunday course + Monday slacklining hang out)
*For those unable to make the first day of the course, please send us an email, we will try our hardest to catch you up so you can still complete the course.

Usually our Trainer / Assessors hang out in the park slacklining the day after the course - because who doesn't love slacklining?? If you have the time, you are very welcome to join and practice all your new skills!

The Trainer / Assessors will be staying at the Tallebudgera Leisure Centre. The centre provides affordable group accomodation, so if you are travelling from interstate (or far away) to attend, you are invited to share accommodation.
