Content: During the course you will learn to:
Teach how the body's balance system works; Identify hazards; Select appropriate sites; implement & monitor programme delivery; Maintain industry standards; Oversee procedures to routinely inspect equipment; Train others to recognise unsafe practices; Instruct correct spilling and spotting Techniques; Apply general coaching principals; Facilitate groups; Minimise environmental impact; Market & promote programs; Apply sports law; conduct and supervise challenging and inspiring slacklining programs; Establishing professional documentation to win contracts, tenders and unbelievable life changing gigs; Efficiently record & report to promote Slacklining and minimise liability and maximise career stability & earnings.
Duration: For Skilled Slackliners this course is 5-7 day course (or an Intensive of 2 ½ - 3 days) with phone support, plus 40hrs home study, practical experience & project work.
Assessment Information: The Slackline Australia Level 2 Instructor course assesses through observation, questioning, portfolio, projects and presentations relating to the following subjects:- Induction- to Commercial Environments, WH&S, Risk Assessments, Codes of Conduct, Industry standards. Basic Slacklining Skill Assessment- Site Selection, Hazard ID & briefing, Spilling & Spotting Techniques, Correct Mounts, Balanced Walking, Simple postures Attunement- Aspects of Balance, Professional Slackline Australia Network, Best Practices Training- General Guiding Skills & Principals, Professionalising your Practice, Duty of Care, Recording & Reporting. Transfer- using best practice, knowledge of sports law, General Coaching Principals, Group Facilitation, establish services within funded frameworks. Lead: Professional Practice and industry by surveying, client, group, environmental, financial needs.
Typically it takes 40hrs afterwards to produce your Slackline Australia Professional Practices Profile & to complete your projects. You will have at least 25hrs of logged slackline teaching with other professional instructors (*alternative options for regional instructors).
